Matt McClune
Matt McClune lebt seit einigen Jahren im lieblichen St. Romain in Burgund. Kaum vorstellbar, dass er hier zwischen reichen Weinbergen und so anmutigen Landschaften zu diesen fast außerirdischen Bildern kommt. Doch wer das Burgund im Novembernebel kennt und dann wieder im sonnigen Frühsommer wird eher verstehen, wie der Maler entsprechend den Jahreszeiten zu völlig unterschiedlichen Farbschöpfungen gelangt. In einer einsamen Atelierhalle bearbeitet er diese spiegelnden keuschen Flächen eloxierten Aluminiums mit seinen fließenden Acrylfarben zu licht-reflektierenden Bildern, die uns eintauchen lassen in seine ganz eigene Welt der Farben und des Lichts.

Matt McClune has been living for several years in the gentle countryside of St. Romain in Burgundy. It is hard to imagine that it is here in this environment – between lush vineyards and this charming landscape – that he creates these almost extraterrestrial pictures. However those who know Burgundy in the November fog and in the sunny early summer are more likely to understand how – in accordance with the seasons – such completely different colour creations could arise. In an isolated studio hall the artist works on reflecting surfaces of anodized aluminium with his flowing acrylic paints, creating light-reflecting pictures that let the viewer immerse himself in an entirely unique world of colour and light.
Born 1973 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Lives and works in St. Romain, France.
