Obituary Timm Ulrichs
With great sadness we say goodbye to Timm Ulrichs (*1940). The exceptional artist passed away on April 29, 2026, in Berlin. One of the great, perhaps the greatest German post-war artist, has left us. We mourn with his widow Ursula Neugebauer.
Indeed, the first personal contact for the Renate Bender Gallery only took place in 2007 at an exhibition opening at the ALTANA Gallery Dresden featuring works by Prof. Werner Ruhnau and Peter Weber, at which Timm Ulrichs gave a lecture (see image). But soon the opportunity arose to exhibit his conceptually not only demanding but also very humorous and subtle textual creations in the gallery. The last time in autumn 2023 in the exhibition 'IN TOUCH WITH LIGHT'… and it was planned that many more would follow.
We will remember him as a wakeful spirit, great thinker, and best friend, and we will cherish his impressive and extraordinary body of work in conceptual art.

The City of Oslo Art Collection // Lars Strandh
We are happy to announce that The City of Oslo Art Collection has acquired two larger scale paintings of Lars Strandh for their collection.
This large collection includes works from the 16th century up till now, and the most famous part is of course the Munch heritage that is shown at the Munch museum and the outdoor sculpture park of Gustav Vigeland. The collection includes some 20.000 artworks in total.

Peter Weber + Ulf Meyer „Hommage”
We are very pleased to present the brand new CD "Hommage" by Ulf Meyer and Peter Weber.
Ulf Meyer (guitar) and Peter Weber (double bass) have a long-standing friendship and career as jazz musicians. It was a cancelled gig in Corona times that they used to record some tracks from the American Songbook in Peter Weber's studio. The compilation of tracks for the resulting CD is a reminiscence of their time together as musicians in the Hamburg scene with Christoph Oeding (guitar) and Ulrich "Miele" Meletschus (drums). In addition to the current tracks, six are from the quartet period of "Meyer Oeding Unlimited".
"Hommage" is dedicated to the two friends who died far too young.
