Marco Stanke was born in 1987 in Bad Aibling, Bavaria. He lives and works in Munich.

In his silk screens Marco Stanke has, from the very beginning, investigated the limits of this genre. Layer upon layer of color is applied precisely so that the elements and forms appear to be almost three-dimensional and stand out from the paper. His most recent pieces are reworked after the complex printing process with a scalpel, folding tools and a perforator blade. Sometimes they are placed on top of each other in frames, thereby creating a greater effect of depth.

In 2015 he starts with the series "12 inch" / "7 inch". Here, Stanke creates with countless layers of black screen prints the high-gloss relief of a traditional record.

After completing his studies in art pedagogy in Eichstätt, Stanke attended the Academy of Fine Arts, Nuremberg, from 2012 to 2018, since 2015 as a master student of Prof. Thomas Hartmann. From 2015 to 2019 he also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich with Prof. Pia Fries. In 2019 he received the debutant promotion of the Free State of Bavaria.
