Heiner Thiel was born in 1957 in Bernkastel-Kues, Germany. He lives and works in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The perception of form and color is the focus of Heiner Thiel’s concave sheet metal sculpture. The form and materiality of the metal generate, together with the intense colors of the anodized surface, a pictorial space which, as the viewer moves, is set in motion. The sculpture appears to free itself from its geometric borders and thus change its appearance. The surrounding light, color and geometry of the metal sculpture join forces to create this interplay of transformational perception. A new palette in color for the anodizing process allows more colorful and brighter tones.
